Anne Pollard (wife)...

Anne Elizabeth, daughter of Albert Pollard and Elsie Wing, was born March 1946 above the pharmacy owned by her father in Clapham, south London. Anne later lived with her parents and sister, Helen, at Wandsworth Road until her father died in 1965, when the family moved briefly to Broadstairs in Kent, then to Knebworth, Hertfordshire. Anne was a keen horsewoman, and owned a pony called Shane.

Anne was educated at a private school in Dulwich, then at a compehensive school. She studied dispensing with Boots the Chemist; during this period, Anne was briefly engaged to be married in Canada. Anne then studied at Pitman's College in Streatham, south London, before working as a legal secretary for a firm of solicitors in Chancery Lane, London.

Anne met John Ashmele in 1968, and after an on/off courtship, they were married in December 1970 at the Register Office in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, and Anne moved into John's home in Kenton. Anne later converted to Judaism in 1972 under the auspices of the Reform Synagogues of Great Britain. Anne and John had two children - Caroline (b.1973) and Simon (b.1975) - and moved to Northwood, Middlesex, in the summer of 1976.

Anne was left-handed, just over 4'11", had blue/green eyes and was an occasional smoker. Shortly after her third pregnancy was confirmed in February 1984, Anne and her children visited her mother in Bexhill, East Sussex. During the night Anne died without warning of myocardial infarct; she was just 37. Her body was cremated and her remains dispersed at Golders Green Crematorium, London.
